Pediatric Physiotherapy is different from Adult Physiotherapy because children often do not understand why they are at physiotherapy. The role of a pediatric physiotherapist is to use Play and Fun Motivational Activities to incorporate functional activities; and assist the child to motor plan muscle contraction into the movement. Pediatric physiotherapists also work closely with parents and caregivers and when needed, recommend appropriate orthotics, wheelchairs, assistive devices, and other adaptive equipment.
